Old Parliament House in Canberra is being developed into a Museum of Australian Democracy. One of the new galleries being developed Living Democracy: the power of the people examines how people shape society by participating in formal and grassroots democracy. A central section of the exhibition will explore twenty examples of Australian petitions - from the 19th Century to e-petitions.
