Retracing the Route of the 1867 Voyage to Adelaide
One of the passengers, F.A. Eldelstone, kept a diary during the 1867 voyage in which he frequently recorded the latitude and longitude of the 'City of Adelaide' as they sailed from London, via Plymouth, to Adelaide. Those latitudes and longitudes have been plotted in the following video. It enables the viewer to retrace the voyage.
A red cross can be seen off the coast of South America. It represents the location where the body of Mrs. Obdahl was committed to the deep. The story of Mrs. Obdahl can be found in the diary.
