CLIPPER SHIP CITY OF ADELAIDE
Dock 2, Honey St, Port Adelaide (extension of Ocean Steamers Rd)
The world's oldest surviving composite clipper ship
Special event aboard 5 November 2016 to mark 152nd anniversary of ship's first arrival in Adelaide in 1864. Made more special by donation of $20,000 from Lang Foundation by its Chairman Allan Burchard.
Thank you.
Special guest Jim Tildesley, former Director of the Scottish Maritime Museum. Present also Pam Whittle and Marion Wells, great grand-daughters of ship's first Captain, David Bruce and passenger Matilda Methuen in 1864. Councillor Sandy Wilkinson represented Lord Mayor of Adelaide, shown with the carved replica Coat of Arms commissioned by the Council. Once again, great catering by Out in the Paddock.
A great evening.
